Hero of the Month

The Hero of the Month
for March is Chris Jaede
from Little Canada Fire Department

The Little Canada Fire Department is a paid-per-call department with 30 members operating out of one central fire station to serve its residents within a four square mile area. The department provides fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue, and first responder services. Chris Jaede is a volunteer firefighter who wholeheartedly dedicates time and talent to the community and those who serve beside him.

This loving husband and father of 3 is always on the go. When he is not at home playing with his kids or responding to calls, Chris operates his own remodeling company, Profile Remodelers LLC, and enjoys playing hockey and golfing. He spends an ample amount of time attending and volunteering at various local community and school events with his fellow firefighters to continually build their presence and partnerships with those they serve. This tight-knit group of firefighters are seemingly always together doing something, and Chris is often right at the heart of whatever it is, because that is who he is. A people-person to his core. You are what you do, not what you say you will do.

Some of Chris’ most impressive qualities are his drive to succeed, and his willingness to take charge, even in uncharted territories. This is exemplified in his vision to create the annual Little Canada Fire Department Golf Tournament in 2018. Chris worked tirelessly to organize a team of volunteers, hustled for auction prizes and earned community partnerships that will serve the fire department well for years to come. In just 2 years, he and his team have raised more than $35,000 for Firefighters for Healing. This donation makes such a difference in the lives of hundreds of patient families.

Chris has stepped up over and over to volunteer to bring gifts and toys to the burn unit, pose for photos in his gear at community events, helped with Fill the Boot campaigns, championed the Paracord Hero of the Month program and has been a brand ambassador around the state. His willingness to get involved, and jump wholeheartedly into the mission of this organization is unmatched. If you ever need something, Chris is that guy that you call. Chris is a kind soul, so smart, fun-loving and gets along with anyone.

Join us in celebrating Chris as the Hero of the Month for embodying courage, honor and self-sacrifice. He is just an ordinary guy doing extraordinary things that truly make a difference.

If you were inspired, we encourage you to volunteer, donate, bring paracords to your community, or nominate a firefighter or burn survivor who deserves to be recognized as a hero.
